"It's all about the girls!"

According to Cathy Gee Graney, adult volunteer/trainer for the local Girl Scout community, girl scouting should be all about the girls and helping them become confident, well-rounded people who are proud of themselves and what they can give back to their peers and their communities. Graney adds, but unfortunately, iin today's fast-paced world, many adults think they are too busy to be a volunteer or they dont think they can get involved if they dont know a young woman in scouting.

The fact is anyone over the age of 18, who can offer guidance, encouragement, support, and share experiences, can be a volunteer-- parents, grandparents, guardians, former scouts, teachers, college students, retirees, professionals, community members, church members, neighbors!

Graney encourages anyone who wants to make a difference in the lives of our youth to consider volunteering with the local Girl Scout community. At the community team level, the Hoosick Falls scouting program needs adults who have computer, writing, and event-planning skills, and would enjoy working with other adults on girl membership, adult recruitment/training, press release and grant writing, and planning and hosting special programs and fundraising events. In addition, the community team is always looking for people who want to work directly with girls as advisors and special workshop leaders.

Why not join the leadership team of women and men whose expertise, skills, interests, and life experiences add value to the local scouting program and to their own lives every day.
