ADAPT Hosts Family Movie Nights at HFCS

HOOSICK FALLS, NY -- ADAPT is hosting two Family Movie Nights for children in grades K-6 and their families on Saturdays, March 19 and May 7, 2011, from 4:00-7:00pm, in the Hoosick Falls Central School Junior-Senior High School Auditorium.

The first movie ADAPT will screen on March 19 is the animated family comedy Despicable Me. Admission to the films is FREE. Food and drink will not be allowed in the auditorium, so we will have an extended intermission with food and drink items for sale to benefit ADAPT: nachos, popcorn, hotdogs, water, juice, and candy; glowstick bracelets will also be for sale. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Despicable Me is rated PG for crude humor and mild action, and runs 95 minutes.

Nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Film, Despicable Me tells the tale of a happy suburban neighborhood filled with white picket fences and flowering rose bushes. In the midst of this perfect neighborhood sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden deep beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by an army of mischievous little minions, Gru (voiced by Steve Carrell) inhabits this hideout planning the biggest heist in the history of the world he is going to steal the moon! (Yes, the moon!) Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. That is, until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen-a potential dad. As a result, one of the world's greatest super-villains meets his greatest challenge-three little girls named Margo, Edith, and Agnes.

Family Movie Night continues with the animated film Tangled on May 7, so please mark your calendars.
