Local Girl Scouts Get Crafty

On Sunday, March 20, 2011, local Girl Scouts, ranging in age from 5 to 15, participated in a cardmaking workshop where they made five greeting cards each for a variety of occasions.

Workshop tables were set up with cardstock, stickers, stamps, markers, and ribbon for each girl to make cards for the special people in their lives for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Grandparents' Day, and birthdays, to celebrate springtime, and to say "thank you" with the help of leaders, parents, and friends of scouting.

In addition to making greeting cards, the girls learned how to emboss and make bookmarks.

The girls learned a fun craft that they'll be able to use for a lifetime, while also learning how to make something special to give to others. For participating, each girl earned a cardmaking patch for their uniforms.
