Class of 2012 After-Prom Celebration a Grand Event

In the wee hours of Sunday, May 22, 2011, Hoosick Falls Central School came alive with the after-prom celebration for the Class of 2012 and their guests. Following an amazingly beautiful and special prom at the Desmond Hotel in Albany, NY, the promgoers arrived in Hoosick Falls greeted with a luminary-lit and balloon-laden walkway as they entered the magic of their "Viva Las Vegas" after-prom celebration, hosted by ADAPT (the Alcohol Drug Abuse Prevention Team of parents/guardians).

From 1:00 to 7:00am, the students kept busy with all sorts of activities and entertainment: hypnosis and roaming magic shows presented by Dr. Steve Taubman of Entertainment Solutions; interactive music videos hosted by East Coast Boogie Bodies; caricatures by Jenny O'Connor; massages by Laura Bull and Bernadette Potratz; larger-than-life inflatable obstacle course, jousting competition, and Twister game; Dance-Dance Revolution; casino games with fake money; videography by Peter Nilsson; a scrumptious buffet; and much more! Students ended their morning with a breakfast provided by many local individuals and businesses. Attendees were presented with a poker chip with an inscription commemorating their after-prom celebration and each junior will be given a DVD with video and photography excerpts from the evening.

This entire celebration could not have come together without the financial support and donation of goods and services of local individuals and businesses, and the tireless effort of the ADAPT volunteers. ADAPT was extremely proud to keep the after-prom celebration in Hoosick Falls -- keeping business local, keeping our children safe, and providing a sense of comfort for parents and guardians at home. And a special thanks goes out to staff, teachers, and administration at HFCS, who fully embraced this event and offered support in more ways than imaginable!
