Wanted: Korean War Vets for Korean War Veterans Welcome Home

On September 13, 2014, local Hoosick Falls veterans' organizations Voice of a Vet, Heroes at Home and the American Legion are sponsoring a Korean War Veterans' Welcome Home Celebration. The event will kick off from the Town of Hoosick Athletic Field at 11 am with a parade, which will be followed by a Recognition Ceremony and light lunch at the Town of Hoosick Skating Rink. Other festivities are in the works.

If you served during the Korean War conflict, please call Gail Smith at 686-3269 and leave contact information so we can include you in our database to be contacted when all details are in place. Please also forward this information to anyone else you know who served during Korea.

We are expecting this to be a banner day, a day for our community to formally honor and recognize yet one more era of veterans who were willing to lay their lives on the line for our freedom.

The public is encouraged to attend the event, and organizations, businesses, schools, and individuals are invited to participate in the parade as long as they are honoring our vets.
