Project: Painting Hoosick

Community Bench Project at HAYC3 Will Feature Local Artists Starting in mid-August, local artists will begin to paint existing benches from around the village of Hoosick Falls. Benches from around the community will be transported to The Perry Room at the HAYC3 Armory, where artist will then set up individual paint stations. Using their creative freedom, artists will paint local scenes from the surrounding area on the benches.

Project: Revaluation of Town and Village - Cost Estimate

Town and Village officials have been looking into the cost of revaluation, below is a quick summary of what we've learned:

  • 3,400 parcels +/- Townwide (including Village)
  • $70-$75 per parcel
  • $238,000-$255,000 Total Revaluation Cost (estimate)

The State offers $1.78 per parcel to offset the cost. This amount changes from year to year based on the number of revaluations happening across the state.

The revaluation for a town our size would take approximately 1 year. Data collection would start in the spring (April) and the tentative roll would be available on or about May 1st.

Project: Broadband Connectivity

Bouncelinx has secured several sites in and around Hoosick. They will start building the non-Hoosick sites in late July while they move thru the Hoosick zoning process in July and August.
