Walter A Wood Tractor and Agriculture Show
The Walter A. Wood Tractor and Agriculture Show is coming.
vintage tractors, horse-drawn farm equipment and implements, and
contemporary machinery will be on display in Walter A. Wood Park in
Hoosick Falls on Saturday, October 3rd from 9 to 5.
The Walter A. Wood Reaping and Mowing Company made horse-drawn farm equipment right here in our town from 1865 to 1924, and sold machinery to farmers on Hoosick and as far away as the Middle East and Russia.
It was Wood’s company that made Hoosick Falls a boomtown in the 19th century, so big that it made Hoosick Falls the largest village in the United States.
Kevin O’Malley is organizing this event, and is looking for folks from
Hoosick and the surrounding communities to enter tractors, farm
implements, livestock and agricultural products.
The event will also feature hay rides, pumpkins and gourds for sale,
and music for all to enjoy.
