HAYC3 AND THE HOOSICK COMMUNITY WORK TOGETHER TO HOST “FEED YOUR SOUL, FEED YOUR NEIGHBOR” TO RAISE FUNDS IN SUPPORT OF THOSE IN NEED

Hoosick Falls, NY - HAYC3 partners with many groups in the Hoosick Area for the benefit of community causes, and we are particularly proud to host Feed Your Soul, Feed Your Neighbor on Friday, January 22, 6:00pm-8:00pm, at the HAYC3 Armory in Hoosick Falls.  All of the proceeds from this event will be donated directly to local organization that “feed Hoosick”. This year’s donations will go to support St. Mark’s free monthly community dinners, Immaculate Conception’s holiday food baskets, and efforts by HACA to feed our neighbors throughout the year.

The event will be a combination of live art and comforting food, all graciously supplied by caring friends and neighbors in the community.

The arts portion of the evening will include live music by James Tennyson, a talented musician on a variety of stringed instruments and keyboards, brings a mix of his own songs and recognized classics to The Owl’s Nest, the unveiling of HAYC3’s artists’ guild Winter Blues door project, and a gallery showing featuring the work of Ayla Graney and Maddie Grubb.

The food portion will include an assortment of mac & cheese dishes prepared and provided by community members and local restaurants. A Chocolatefest will serve up a variety of chocolate treats that you're invited to “mug up” in a hand-painted mug (yours to keep).  All mugs will be painted in advance of the event.

This event epitomizes the caring and cooperative spirit of the Hoosick community,” says Amanda Haar, HAYC3 volunteer and coalition member.  Not only was the event conceived by community members, all the effort, energy and resources that will go into making it happen are provided with a giving and caring spirit.  It's all about neighbors helping neighbors.”

Reverend Tom Zelker, Pastor of Immaculate Conception Church, agrees. Like past events that benefited the food pantry, this event is a great community builder that provides much-needed funds to provide food baskets to our neighbors most in need. Without this effort, well, some people would be in a lot of hurt.”

“HAYC3 board, staff and community volunteers are happy to work with the various community groups for this important cause,” said Aelish Nealon, HAYC3 Executive Director.

Come listen to music and view the art for free. Chocolatefest goodies (including hot cocoa!) will be pay-what-you-will and the cost to buy a mugful of mac & cheese is $10 per person.

If you are interested in painting mugs for this event, join us on January 12 at 6:00pm. If you would like to volunteer your time to help bake and cook, we will be gathering in the Hoosick Kitchen on January 21 at 6:00pm to create chocolate treats and unique mac & cheese dishes. Please call 518-686-9050 to reserve your spot.
