May was a busy month at the battlefield. I Love My Park Day was a success thanks to our volunteers and the flowers we planted remain un-chewed as of this writing! Our May speakers did a great job. One, Park Ranger Eric Schnitzer, intends to offer an encore presentation of his program on Germans in the Revolutionary War later this year. We also debuted an in-school program that includes period dress pictured below.

Moving onto program news, June will see the return of some popular summer events and a new one to boot. Notably, we will be hosting our annual Path Through History Program June 17th. We will host well known author and historian Michael Gabriel for the event, so don’t miss it! We are also dusting off the movie projector system for use on the grounds of the Barnett House. If you didn’t make it out last year we hope to see you at a screening this summer. We are precluded from advertising specific titles due to our licensing agreement, but last year we screened movies such as Drums along the Mohawk and The Devil’s Disciple. Contact David Pitlyk for more details at david.pitlyk@parks.ny.gov or 518-860-9094. See blow for the full program schedule.
