Historic downtown Hoosick Falls will be hustle and bustle for the inaugural HAYC3 First Friday

HAYC3 is gearing up for the first of its First Friday events on November 3, 2017.

An arts and cultural event that takes place the first Friday of every month, First Friday is a unique collaboration between the local arts community, businesses, and organizations that offers a fun way to engage with one another through creative promotions and special deals or programs. First Friday is also a way to discover what is going on in the Hoosick Falls community. Among the participants and activities of this inaugural First Friday are:

I Spy, Hoo Spies: Each month, 20 like items will be hidden throughout the community. When you “spy” one, take a photo and post it to HAYC3’s Facebook page with where you saw it. During the day of November 3, keep your eyes peeled for hot-pink gourds and let’s see how fast 20 are found.

From 10:00am–6:00pm, New 2 You will have a “Spin the Wheel” for discounts up to 50% off, and they’ll have free candles, scarves, and other great products. Check out their Facebook page for special deals. New 2 You is located at 59 High Street.

Starting at 2:00pm until closing, Iron Coffee will show their roasting process and introduce the new shop pup Milly. Iron Coffee is located at 9 Main Street.

From 4:00–5:00pm, Art Jocks ― a free art class for students in grades K–5 ― will be held in the Arts & Soul Room in the HAYC3 Armory at 80 Church Street. Students will paint dried gourds to take home. Class size is limited to 10, so please call HAYC3 to reserve your student’s spot.

Little Sprouts, located at 35 Church Street, will be staying open until 7:00pm for this event: from 4:00–7:00pm stop in to “Reveal” one of several mystery deals by lifting a flap.

Stop in to Hoosick True Value from 5:00–6:00pm to receive 10% off all regularly price light sets. True Value is located at 21953 NY 22 in North Hoosick.

In the Art Gallery, downstairs at the HAYC3 Armory, a Maker’s Market, featuring local artisans and food purveyors, will be held from 5:00–7:00pm. Just in time for the holidays, shop for homemade quilts, jams, syrups, local products, and more

Also downstairs at the Armory from 5:00–7:00pm, enjoy a free cup of Iron Coffee coffee; free live music performed by Tavo Carbone in the Owl’s Nest; and Hoosick Kitchen Catering homemade soup, bread, and dessert for $5.

From 5:30–7:30pm, Society of St. Stanislaw (The Polish Hall), at 12 Mechanic Street, is offering dinner: Choice of pulled pork or pulled chicken served with coleslaw, chips, and a pickle for $8 per order. Opened to the community; sorry, no phone orders.

Participants and deals are being added to the list constantly, so for a complete up-to-date list check out HAYC3’s website at www.hayc3.org or follow us on Facebook.
