Get Involved!

There are plenty of ways to become an active part of your battlefield.

Have you ever wanted to get involved at Bennington Battlefield? Our May 1 opening day is closer than you think. We have plenty of ways for volunteers to share their knowledge or passion while working alongside other likeminded people this year.

• Join us as a volunteer interpreter. Volunteers of all abilities and commitment levels are welcome, from greeting patrons to assisting with tours and everything in between. You can fill out this simple form or e-mail david.pitlyk@parks.ny.gov to get started. We will meet you at any level of historical knowledge and provide you with training.


• Sign up for I Love My Park Day. Want to help but your schedule is jam packed? In early April, registration for the May 6, 2023 I Love My Park Day will open. Watch this page for updates. This single day of service helps to beautify the site. Participants receive a t-shirt from Parks & Trails New York and a water bottle from the American Battlefield Trust.


• Join the Friends of the Bennington Battlefield. The Friends of the Bennington Battlefield plan special events, pursue grant funding and advocate for the battlefield. Check out their website to learn how you can become a member. This organization does great work and is always in search of new members and supporters.
