HAYC3 believes that art helps build stronger communities and creates a sense of place. Light can symbolize many things to different people but for the Hoosick artists who are participating in the Hoosick is Illuminated art project, light brings inclusion and togetherness to a community.

"We at HAYC3 are excited to be able to provide art opportunities for our community without barriers,” said Aelish Nealon, Executive Director. “These art workshops and experiences are free which makes them accessible to everyone.”

This community-wide public art event encourages everyone to make a lighted project and/or join in the revelry. The art projects can be varied. Artists can make handmade paper-mache lanterns or wooden puppets or families can simply decorate a lighted mason jar. Workshops for both young and old will be held throughout the Summer leading up to the parade.

The festivities begin on Saturday, September 26th at 7:00pm when the Hoosick is Illuminated Parade will take to the streets. This lighted and whimsical parade will line up at the Athletic Fields and will make their way down Main Street, John Street, Church Street and will end at the HAYC3 Armory.

After the Parade, community members, with lanterns, flashlights or glow sticks in hand, can pick up a Hoosick is Illuminated Stroll map where lighted installation created by the HAYC3 Artist Guild members will be on display throughout the community or continue the celebration at this great family friendly event with music by….and food…Price of admission is...

At 9:00pm, join other lumineers and launch a sky lantern located on Immaculate Conception’s lawn behind the HAYC3 Armory. Sky Lanterns will be on sale on a first come first serve basis.
