Bennington Battlefield State Historic Site Invites
Public Participation in a Historical and
Archaeological Survey of the Battlefield

(Walloomsac, NY) The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation has been awarded an American Battlefield Protection Program grant from the National Park Service to perform historical and archaeological research on the Bennington Battlefield.

The public is invited to attend an information meeting presenting the project on September 22nd at 7PM in the Auditorium of the Hoosick Falls High School. The primary goal of this meeting will be to encourage public participation in the project and to make contact with private individuals and landowners that are aware of battlefield resources and have artifacts and information related to the battle.

Information provided by the public and uncovered with this study will serve as the basis for future planning, research, and interpretation at the Bennington Battlefield State Historic Site. The Hoosick Falls High School is located at 21187 NYS Route 22, Hoosick Falls, NY.

New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation oversees 180 state parks and 35 historic sites, which are visited by 60 million people annually.
