HAYC3 4th Annual Holiday Pop-Up Shop to Feature Santa and Over Thirty Local Vendors

As sure as Christmas is coming, so is HAYC3’s 4th Annual Holiday Pop-Up Shop. In keeping with HAYC3’s shop local and sustainability campaigns, the event features local small business owners, craftspeople, artists, artisans, farmers, and even non-profits vending a variety of goods and services. Last year over 500 visitors to the Holiday Pop-Up Shop enjoyed and purchased an assortment of goods including holiday baked goods, maple syrup and holiday products, jewelry, crafts and more. Plus, Santa will be making a visit from 11-12:30p.m. and photographer Vanessa Lewis will be on hand to capture the moment.

In addition, community members are invited to make a donation to this year’s Village Holiday Tree which will be decorated with mittens, hats, and gloves and available to anyone in need. Items for the tree can be dropped off during the Pop-Up Shop or dropped off at the HAYC3 Armory throughout the month at your convenience. Vendor space is still available for the Holiday Pop-Up Shop. To learn more about space.

For more information, call HAYC3 at 518-686-9050. Registration Form can be found on line at hayc3.org/Pop-up-shop.

Operation Christmas Cookie Event at the HAYC3 Armory

This year Operation Christmas Cookie is starting its ninth year of sending packages of homemade cookies to troops overseas during the holiday!

Operation Christmas Cookie is coordinated by Boy Scout Pack 6064 and Daisy Troop 1227. Originally begun in 2007 by Suzanne Fitzpatrick whose son was then stationed in Kandahar. She wanted to send him some cookies so that he could share a bit of the ‘holidays at home’ spirit with his unit. She enlisted the help of family, friends and community members and Operation Christmas Cookie was born. Since then over 3,400 packages of cookies have been sent to our service men and women overseas.

This year, we will be sending our packages to a Navy unit stationed on the USS San Antonio and Wounded Warriors.

If you would like to donate cookies for this event, we will be packing the cookies Friday night, December 2nd at 5:00pm at the HAYC3 Armory. (There will be a table in the Perry Room for earlier drop offs.) Saturday, they will be in the mail.

No special containers are necessary. Cookies can be dropped off in ziplock bags or disposable containers. Firm or crisp cookies travel best. Fudge, wrapped candy or gum are great too. Anything that will give them a taste of home at the holidays and show our support for them.

Monetary donations are always great and help with shipping and supply costs. For more information, you can contact HAYC3 at 686-9050. The HAYC3 Armory is located at 80 Church Street in Hoosick Falls, NY.
