You are invited to join us for a winter program at the Caretakers House!

During the 17th century the Hudson River Valley was known as New Netherland and many Dutch traditions were brought to the area. In celebration of one of those traditions, St. Nicholas Day, you are welcome to join a presentation by Erin Czernecki from the Friends of Fort Crailo and enjoy a sampling of feast day treats. Erin will explain the history of the holiday and how the European St. Nicholas turned into the American Santa Claus. The program will take place inside the Caretakers House (30 Caretakers Road, Hoosick Falls, NY 12090) December 5, 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM. No registration is required. Donations supporting the Friends of Fort Crailo are welcome.

Also in December...

December 4, 6:00 PM at the Walloomsac Taproom (50 Factory Hill Rd, North Hoosick, NY 12133): We will be reading A Generous and Merciful Enemy: Life for German Prisoners of War during the American Revolution by Daniel Krebs. We will meet at the Walloomsac Taproom at 6:00 PM on December 4 rather than the final Wednesday of November given the proximity to the Thanksgiving holiday.

December 14, 11:00 AM at the Caretakers House (30 Caretakers Road, Hoosick Falls, NY 12090): Create your own holiday wreath with hemlock branches from the battlefield!  The program is fun for the whole family. Donations are welcome.
