NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be held by the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Town of Hoosick at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at the Town of Hoosick Town Offices, New York State Armory, 80 Church Street, Hoosick Falls, New York 12090, to review the applications for special use permit, site plan, and area variances submitted to the Town of Hoosick by Hawthorn Solar, LLC (a subsidiary of CS Energy, LLC) requesting municipal approvals to construct, operate and maintain a Solar Energy System on 130 acres of property along Pine Valley Road and Fords Road within the Agricultural/Residential Zoning District on lands owned by Dale Ford (Tax Map Parcel No. 36.-1-9.2) and Timothy and Brittany Marbot (Tax Map Parcel Nos. 36.-1-10.1, 36.-1-11.1, and 46.-1-10.11).

The applicant is proposing a 20-megawatt AC solar electric generation facility (defined as a Tier 3 Solar Energy System in the Town of Hoosick Town Code). The proposed project will consist of galvanized steel posts, driven or screwed into the ground, galvanized steel racking, solar photovoltaic modules, inverters, transformers, gravel access roads, concrete equipment pads, and appurtenant equipment, conductors, and security fencing. The project will be interconnecting directly to a 115kV electrical transmission line that is adjacent to the western border of the project site through a new 48,125-square-foot substation. Hawthorn Solar, LLC will sell electricity directly into the wholesale market via the transmission system.

The application materials are on file at the Town of Hoosick Town Offices located at 80 Church Street, Hoosick Falls, New York, and are available for inspection during regular business hours. The application materials are also available on the Town of Hoosick website at www.townofhoosick.org.

All interested persons will be heard at the public hearing.
